As a UofN Training Center we offer a variety of schools which are part of the "College of Counseling and Healthcare". These are:

The Crossroads Discipleship Training School (CDTS)

The CDTS is an entry level school and a prerequisite for all other YWAM courses. Our Crossroads DTS is open for families, couples, and singles above the age of 30.

Foundation for Counseling Ministry (former IBC)

"Living Healthy Relationships"

This Foundation for Counseling Ministry school (former IBC) focuses on learning relationship skills. Relationships can be a tremendous blessing, but they can also make our life very difficult. But God is a God of relationships. Lets look at healthy, biblical principles together and learn how to apply them in our own lives as well as how to be a help for others.

This school gives you a firm foundation and many tools to work with other people - whether you will be staff in a YWAM school or work in a cell group of your home church.

The Discipleship Training School (DTS or CDTS) is the prerequisite for this school.

Methods and Models of Biblical Counseling (MMBC)

"Training and Equipping Leaders"

This school teaches you Methods and Models of Biblical Counseling ( MMBC ), focusing on a deeper understanding of relationships and looking at what keeps us from developing a healthy Christian identity. It introduces different counseling models and tools to fight dysfunctional lifestyles and false beliefs.

Would you like to disciple others and be better equipped to come alongside those who are broken in some areas of their life? This school will challenge you in how you see God, yourself and others and equip you with tools and insights of how to develop the full potential of what God has put in each one of us.

A DTS, as well as the Introduction to Biblical Counseling (IBC) with a completed field assignment are prerequisites for this school.

Addictive Behavior Counseling School (ABC)

"Helping others discover freedom from addictions and other destructive lifestyles."

The Challenge:

Many people in the world are caught in bondage of addictions such as alcoholism, chemical dependency, co-dependency, eating disorders, etc. because of abuse, shame, unresolved grief or other unresolved issues. God desires to set these people free, and we as Christians are challenged to help them break free from the self-destructive behaviors used to cover their pain. The healing will come as we bring those people to focus on the finished work of the Cross and Jesus.

The main skills taught in the ABCS are: understanding and leading support and process groups (Basic Psychotherapy Groups), Trauma resolution (how to deal with the roots), and addiction counseling skills. While learning these skills each student will also have the opportunity to work on their personal issues of recovery from childhood trauma, addictions, or other problems. Our focus is to train counselors who then may train others or work in a recovery type of mercy ministry. The school is not for individuals that primarily need therapy for personal issues.

Systemic Approach Counseling School - SAC

“A difference that makes a difference”
 

The Systemic Approach to Counseling Course is designed with a biblical perspective to help train and equip students in systemic theory, practice, and ministry for healthy lifestyle changes. The course introduces at least seven systemic models of family counseling and therapy.
